I am incredibly grateful that I was blessed enough to be able to participate on the Hyeojong trip and Jcarp exchange project. It will be a highlight of my summer that I’ll never forget.
One of the many highlights on this trip was my time in Kumamoto. Although the sweltering heat was a great challenge, we were able to participate in the Peace Road on bicycles. We joined in a local Shinto festival, being in Japan I learned a lot about the fascinating culture.
It was such a joy to be able to serve and offer my time and heart to the people, we taught English to children affected by the earthquake that happened a while back. Feeling so much of the Japanese peoples’ serving heart and trust in me made me want to push beyond my limits.
For the future I want to make a greater effort to incorporate this serving heart into my future supporting other young people.
