Being in Japan has been a unique experience for me. All of my personal plans for summer were completely changed, so I felt I had to persevere and dedicate myself to CARP.
Meeting the Japan CARP members when I arrived was heart-warming. Upon meeting them, I had the impression that they had been longing to meet me. Although this was the case, I felt that their desire to welcome the U.K members into their centre was sincere.
The Japanese CARP members have a very full schedule. They work diligently. They make a lot of 정성, by doing, waking up early, HDH, studying, serving others and making their own conditions to become close to God and True Parents. The Japanese members usually have university during the day and it's not unusual for some members to return home from studying or working at midnight. Without fail, every day the members go witnessing, meeting guests, giving lectures or public service. I think their way of living is the standard of life that all blessed children should attain to have, because you're always in public position (even there are countless difficulties) you will always be guaranteed, happiness. They are always active and serving. Internally they have a very clear direction.

We witnessed every day in Waseda university. It was hard to have a clear understanding of how to witness effectively there because of the type of people we were witnessing to. University students are usually searching for something, but because they are young they want to be active in many different things. This made it difficult for many students to develop a relationship with CARP that goes beyond the first meeting. However, it was incredible to see how hard working Japanese students can be.
It was an honour to witness in the university that True Father studied at. This was challenging physically and mentally, but we really persevered. I learnt a lot about the current state of Japan.
I learnt so much from Japanese members about Japan. I feel that Japan is a suffering country, because the priority is to work and study, but there isn't a centre or purpose in the society. The church and CARP members are really striving to connect society to God. During witnessing many young people expressed that they are seeking something new and exciting. I have a lot of hope that Japan CARP can inspire Japan's young people and revolutionise the society.
I learnt that although, inspiring someone to join CARP is very important, but what is even more important is our standard of heart. It's important to listen and learn from people that we're witnessing to. To do this having clear faith is integral. Witnessing is about practicing having a parental heart to move people's hearts.
I'm really grateful for the effort and love the Japanese CARP members had for us.
Like the ocean, the Japanese CARP members are embodying the truth that living for the sake of others always develops a deep and vast heart for all people.
